Russell Makant, MA, LCMHCA

Russell Makant is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina. His bachelor’s degree led to a Master of Arts in Religion and Master of Divinity. Recently, Russell graduated from Lenior-Rhyne University with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Having taught in an alternative school, and in traditional public school, prison, and university settings, and having worked for over two decades in ministry, as well as training a handful of dogs, he brings years of experience into his counseling. Considering the whole person as a human being, Russell aims to work with people struggling with anxiety, anger, conflict, depression, grief, stress, trauma, life transitions and other events or concerns. He uses techniques from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and others, working to have a theory-informed, integrated approach. Russell enjoys the questions and metaphors clients find showing up in their lives.
